John was born in Bangor, graduated from Brewer High School and the University of Maine in Orono with a BA. He has been a licensed auctioneer since 1994. Prior to 2005, he conducted over 200 antique and estate auctions. He currently works with buyers and sellers as well as conducting both non-foreclosure and foreclosure real estate auctions.
Prior to a real estate career, he worked in management in a big box store chain, later sold pharmaceuticals and was an antiques dealer participating in antique shows from Maine to Florida. He is currently a certified Personal Property Appraiser.
In 2008, John earned the designation of AARE (Accredited Auctioneer, Real Estate) from the National Auctioneers Association. He is the Past President of the Maine Auctioneers Association and still sits on the Board of Directors. He is also a member of BNI (Business Network International) and the Bangor Breakfast Rotary Club. He has been a member of First Baptist Church in Bangor for many years.
One of his favorite things to do is to help non-profit organizations with fund raising auctions. His off-beat sense of humor is put to good use in helping people donate to a worthy cause.
He is married to Brenda, has two grown daughters, Sara and Kendra, and four grandchildren.
