When I arrived to live in Northport, Maine from just outside of Boston many years ago, I was amazed and amused by the "BUMP" signs along the route to our new home. Of course, I have come to understand them much better now.
Like most people, my life has had its ups and downs. I left school to work, met a local Maine boy, married him and after 47 years, he still affectionately reminds me I am an "outer-stater." I was happy to work in several local factories to pay bills and help put food on the table for our family that grew to five with our three awesome children.
At age 26, I decided to get my GED then began taking college courses at the University of Maine Augusta, where I earned my Associates Degree. From there, I began taking courses in an external degree program with Southwest University. After much work and responsibility- juggling, I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and eventually a Master of Science in Social Work.
My interest in working with people was enriched by a management position at Tall Pines Health Care Facility and by working at Waldo County Home Health. When you reach out to others, you are amazed at what you receive back. As the saying goes, "to gather we must give." I have been blessed to work in this wonderful city with amazing and caring people.
A dear family friend encouraged me to consider a real estate career. Thanks to Realty of Maine owner Dave Sleeper, I have become part of an exciting and rewarding profession. At this time in life, I continue to offer real estate services in Belfast and Waldo County. For this, I am grateful. I am proud to serve as a Maine Realtor®.
